About

This is my first blog, and I resisted the idea of producing one for quite some time. However, a couple of years into my career in PR I felt that the industry needed to make a renewed effort to promote itself. How many times have you tried to explain to family and friends what a PR professional actually does? Where is the line between PR, advertising and marketing?

I hope that this might encourage people to consider who PR is perceived outside the industry and how we might be able to raise its profile both individually and collectively.

(I hope that doesn’t sound too pretentious)

Otherwise, ThisisPRable is dedicated to sharing the latest campaigns, concepts, social media and tech developments, and anything else that might inspire creativity.

All idea are welcome and I would love your feedback.

About the author

My name is Tom and I am a couple of years into my PR career. I previously worked as a journalist and currently work in my second PR agency. I enjoy a blend of B2C and B2B, just so long as there is scope to be creative and have a little fun.

Outside PR I love surfing, adore Formula 1 and support West Ham United. I love poetry, films and art. Just the usual stuff.

  1. Great site, really interesting read! I’m coming to the industry after a couple of years in copywriting, marketing and sales in the speciality food sector, I have an internship with a food and drink PR company which I’m loving. Finding that elusive first job in PR is tough though, any tips on breaking in? I have a PR portfolio online here http://www.rebeccamagnus.com, if you have any tips or critics of it then I would really love to hear them, I’m trying to learn, grow and improve as much as possible as I hunt for that prized entry level job.

    Keep blogging on! Rebecca
